Hello,
I’m Krista Sabados, LMFT
I came to this work as an educator first. I hold an Ed.M. from Harvard, and I spent years teaching and leading before I retrained in the clinical models that actually move trauma. That lineage still shapes me: I explain what we’re doing and why, and you stay the expert on your own life.
My training runs on three tracks. Clinical: the Comprehensive Resource Model, trained directly under its developer, Lisa Schwartz, alongside Internal Family Systems and somatic, body-based approaches — with Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method for couples. Learning science: a Harvard Ed.M. in Adult Learning and Transformation, and human-centered design. And spiritual lineage: extensive mindfulness training, fifteen years of shamanic healing practice, training in Lakota ceremony, yoga, and breathwork.
The spiritual work is lineage and lived practice, not decoration — and it enters our work only if you want it, as an integrated dimension of care held within the scope of licensed clinical practice. I see clients in Huntington Beach and by telehealth across California.
How I work
Direct. Grounded. At the root.
I will not simply hold space and wait. When I see the pattern, I’ll name it. When we reach the edge of the old wound, I’ll keep you resourced and go with you — not ahead of you, not behind.
Depth work doesn’t have to mean drowning. My job is to keep one of your feet on the sand at all times, so your nervous system can do what it could never do alone: complete, release, reorganize.
People come to me when they’re done circling. If you’re ready to go to the root, I’m ready to meet you there.
