The patterns

Does this sound familiar?

You grew up in an unstable, emotionally volatile home, and now you move through life waiting for the other shoe to drop.

You’ve done the insight work. You can explain exactly why you react the way you do. Yet in the moment, your body still takes over, and you’re left wondering why understanding hasn’t changed the pattern.

You sense your healing is also spiritual, and you’ve never found a therapist who could truly hold that.

Everyone thinks you’re holding it together. What they don’t see is how much energy it takes just to stay functional.

You replay conversations long after they’re over. You know your fears aren’t entirely rational, but your nervous system doesn’t seem to care.

You’ve been told you’re “too sensitive” your whole life. You feel everything, and you’ve learned to hide it.

You keep reaching for the same things to numb the pain, and lately it feels like those habits are running you instead of the other way around.

Your body feels more like something you manage than somewhere you feel at home.

You move through life as if there’s glass between you and the world. You want to connect with people. You’re just not sure how anymore.

If any of that sounds familiar, here’s what I want you to know: none of it is a failure of effort or insight.

It’s what happens when trauma lives in the nervous system, below the reach of talk and understanding. Your body adapted to survive something real, and it’s still running that old program. The way through isn’t more analysis. It’s working with the body itself, where the pattern actually lives, so healing happens at the level the wound occurred.

This is the work I do, and I don’t do it from behind a clipboard.

I’m Krista Sabados, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Huntington Beach, and I come to this work as a human first. I’ve had to find my own way through patterns that insight alone couldn’t change. That experience doesn’t make your story the same as mine. It means I know what it feels like to stand where you are, wondering why nothing you’ve tried has lasted.

I’ll meet you with warmth, honesty, and curiosity, but I won’t simply listen while the same painful loop repeats session after session. I’ll help you notice the pattern while you’re living it. I’ll challenge the places where survival has become mistaken for identity. And together we’ll work with your nervous system so change happens somewhere deeper than insight alone.

My practice, Source Healing, is built around depth work: getting to the source of your pain and transmuting it. I trained in the Comprehensive Resource Model directly under its developer, Lisa Schwartz — an approach designed for trauma that talk therapy couldn’t reach — and I weave it together with Internal Family Systems, somatic work, and, for those who want it, a spiritual dimension that honors the whole of who you are.

So what could life actually look like?

Your body as a place you live, not a thing you manage. Mornings that don’t start with dread. A nervous system that can settle. Saying no without a three-day guilt spiral. Feeling your feelings without being flooded by them. Trusting yourself again.

Not becoming someone new. Returning to the self that was there all along.

You don’t have to do this alone, and you don’t have to know exactly what you need before reaching out. Start with a free 15-minute consultation, and we’ll talk about what’s been happening and whether this work is the right fit.
